My role on this project is to ensure that we have a safe, powered and well illuminated building, clearly depicting the artists’ intentions.
Opportunities have arisen to experiment with light, shade and colour. The main entrance, for example, is a much ignored piece of architecture. Here, creative solutions using simple colour mixing and recombining, challenging people’s concept of what constitutes the make up of light have been used to illuminate the space. The role has also involved sharing imaginative solutions to technical problems and specifications, creating, problem solving and realising within the team.
My piece on cigarettes takes a different perspective on how we view smokers and the different lives that they lead.
