There are many more ceramics manufacturers in the Potteries, ranging from traditional
commercial potteries that haven't changed a jot since the Victorian era,
such as Burleigh, to Heron Fine China,
to modern hi-tech producers such as Steelite.
The Stoke-based Ceramic Industry Forum calculated in 2003 that there were then over
300 small potteries in the city.

:: Ceramics Industry Forum -
offers a host of support services to innovative firms within the
industry, including valuable market intelligence on consumer trends.
:: The Hothouse Centre for Ceramic Design. Stoke-on-Trent's hi-tech
creative ceramics cluster, with 20 studios for.... "new and
developing small design-related businesses", with access to
3D virtual modelling and rapid prototyping technology so
you can visualise & refine your product
before you start making it. It expanded in 2004, adding
another 23 studio/offices in a neighbouring Grade-II listed
building.
