::  Phil Hardaker - a mosaic maker from Stoke.

::  Johanna Hallsten - creates subtle artistic interventions in gardens. Based in Stoke-on-Trent.

::  Sue Blatherwick - creates ceramic outdoor wall-plates, and is also a site-specific environment-artist. Based in Leek.

::  Redstone Willows - located on the Cheshire / Staffordshire border, they grow in excess of 100 varieties of willow, many of which are ideal for basketry, earth-art sculptures and community arts structures. They also run workshops, can can install living-willow structures and make willow sculptures on commission.

::  Peak District Photography Centre - residential photography courses with experienced tutors. The Peak District National Park begins just nine miles from Stoke-on-Trent, and is one of the most popular rural/wilderness areas in the world, welcoming 22 million visitors each year.

::  The Green Wood Trust - a nationally important rural crafts organisation, based just 20 miles from Stoke in nearby Telford. The Trust runs around 40 courses a year, including regular coracle making workshops.

::  Creeping Toad provide environment-based arts training in Staffordshire.

::  Survival School Staffordshire - offer fascinating woodland skills courses, which would inspire any artist or writer.

::   Rodbaston College in Penkridge sometimes offers courses in Willow Sculpture. Several F.E. Colleges in Staffordshire offer a Diploma in Garden Design.
